  • Late or unauthorized returns — what happens if a customer ships back outside the window (like Kristin's situation) — e.g., "Items returned after the return window may be refused or subject to a restocking fee"
  • Shipping responsibility — who pays return shipping
  • Restocking fees — if applicable, the percentage charged

For your store (The Bargains Basement), given that you sell a mix of new, used, and discounted items, it would be especially useful to include language about:

  • Final sale items (heavily discounted goods, personalized merchandise, and other groups as marked in the item)
  • Condition requirements for used items being returned
  • Your discretion to accept or refuse late returns
